Eclectic or Electric?

One blogger commented that she had difficulty adding me to her friends list because she had typed “electric” rather than “eclectic.”  (Glad you eventually found me, and thanks so much for adding me to your friends!)

I know I violated one of the cardinal rules of website naming:  make it easy to remember and to spell!  I did ponder the hazards of ignoring that rule, but I adore the word “eclectic” because it so accurately represents the nature of both my home library and my homeschooling style.

Here’s the definition of “eclectic” from Merriam-Webster Online (a fantastic resource, BTW):

I do hope that this blog will be not only eclectic but also electric—that it will spark energetic discussion of books and ideas.  I welcome and appreciate your comments.

  1. I had the same struggle when I picked out my name as well. I should have capitalized my E and C, it might make it easier. But I just love the word eclectic and it is such a great description of me that I had to use it – hard spelling or not LOL.
