{"id":227,"date":"2005-08-02T20:39:28","date_gmt":"2005-08-02T20:39:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/eclectic-bibliophile.com\/blog\/?p=227"},"modified":"2010-05-08T20:39:56","modified_gmt":"2010-05-08T20:39:56","slug":"what-is-your-family-reading-aloud-this-week","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/eclectic-bibliophile.com\/blog\/what-is-your-family-reading-aloud-this-week\/","title":{"rendered":"What Is Your Family Reading Aloud This Week?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We began reading aloud\u00a0<em>The Swiss Family  Robinson<\/em> tonight as part of our study of resourcefulness.<\/p>\n<p>My four boys love the fact that the shipwrecked  family has four boys, and each one is identifying with the fictional boy  who shares his birth order:\u00a0 Forrest with Ernest, Andrew with Fritz,  Perry with Jack, and Thomas with Franz.\u00a0 Andrew wants me to substitute  their names into the novel so they can &#8220;be in the story,&#8221; but I&#8217;m afraid  I won&#8217;t be able to keep them straight!<\/p>\n<p>Despite my high ideals for homeschooling, it&#8217;s  very hard to fit leisurely read-alouds into our busy life, but it is  always so rewarding when I make it a priority.<\/p>\n<p>What are you\u00a0reading aloud to your children this  week?<\/p>\n<p>Mary Jo<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We began reading aloud\u00a0The Swiss Family Robinson tonight as part of our study of resourcefulness.
