Creative Marketing for My Recent Book Sale

Posted on June 6, 2006

The shelves are full, the boxes stacked.

My office space is out of whack.

Boxes here, boxes there—

Boxes of books are EVERYWHERE!!

I cannot walk. I cannot file.

Everywhere’s another pile.

There’s no room for “just one more.”

I cannot even see the floor.

I do not like this messy room.

It fills me with a sense of doom.

I have to free my office space

To put a smile upon my face.

The answer’s clear—now don’t you know?

All these books must go, Go, GO!!!

Son 1, Son 2, Sons 3 and 4

Are hauling boxes out the door.

At Lawndale Pres., the first of June—

Sale starts at 3:00 that afternoon.

History, science, even Greek—

Won’t you come and take a peek?

Some books are used, and some are new.

Can they find a home with you?

At 7:00 sharp we’ll close the door.

We won’t be selling any more.

The price is low; the bargain’s great.

Make a note and mark the date.

Treasures pulled from all the nooks.

Come to our sale and BUY SOME BOOKS!!

and visions of boxes here too, although I wish I could blame it on a book sale!!

I hope it goes great for you and that you sell much. I really loved your poem.
